Southwestern PA’s premier arts ed convening
Arts Ed Collaborative has held Regional Arts Ed Day since 2004. Thousands of arts educators and other stakeholders have participated in hundreds of concurrent sessions since that time.
Regional Arts Ed Day 2020 was held on February 17, 2020, in Cornell School District. The day featured artist, activist, and 1Hood Media co-founder and CEO Jasiri X as our headliner. His keynote delved into the ways hip hop empowers youth of color to speak their truth and use creativity for personal and political empowerment in the face of racism.
Presenters from across the region offered 8 different concurrent sessions in the morning and afternoon. In addition, partners such as MCG Youth and Arts, Touchstone Center for Crafts, and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center hosted a lunchtime information session to share about their work.
